Energy Revolution: how we can lead the transition to a low carbon economy
The LEP recently partnered with the private sector, higher education and Cornwall Council to jointly commission a publication in the Western Moring News looking at how Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly can become a global leader in the transition to a low carbon economy.
The eight-page supplement focused on our area’s existing and proposed renewable energy activity, looking at geothermal energy, tech metals, bioemethane, local energy markets and the expertise that is already exported around the world.
It also examines the potential for floating offshore wind energy to play a major role in decarbonising our electricity supply, and why Cornwall could become a centre of excellence for this new technology.
The LEP is spearheading the drive to bring floating wind energy to our region and has made this film to explain its potential.
