European Investment in Skills For Young People

European Social Funding has been invested in a programme of support for young people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to get into work, education and training.  The investment is part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme.

The Skills for Young People project which is open to participants aged 15-24 who are at risk of or, already, not in education, employment or training (NEET). The programme will focus on those who are at risk of social exclusion and young people from marginalised communities.

Support for participants of the project will be delivered by CSW Group, a skilled team that specialise in helping young people.  The activity will bring young people from priority groups closer to employment or further learning in line with LEP priorities.

Julian German Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economy said, “I’m delighted to see this investment taking place.  We have a responsibility to support people in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to access education, training and employment to they can enjoy rewarding careers and prosperous lives.  This in turn helps our businesses to be productive and grow which has a positive impact on our economy.  ”
