LEP seeks business people for Employment and Skills Board
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership is seeking business people to join its Employment and Skills Board.
The role of the board is to help the LEP shape and influence employment and skills training so that it meets the needs of employers in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and to drive the LEP’s Employment and Skills Strategy.
Clare Harris, the LEP’s employment and skills manager, said: “Part of the LEP’s role is to provide the strategic leadership to synchronise supply and demand for employment and skills to meet the needs of our economy now and in the future.
“The Employment and Skills Board was set up to drive this activity and we are now looking for new members from the business community to join.
“We will only transform our economy if we can supply a highly trained, ambitious and flexible workforce of all ages, and continue to attract the very highest talent to live and work in our area. These are important positions on the board and we hope more local businesses will get involved.”
Anyone interested in joining the Employment and Skills Board can fill out an Expression of Interest Form on the LEP’s website. The deadline is Monday 18th September and applicants will be notified in the week commencing 25th September.
