Making important decisions locally. The role of the LEP in the devolution deal.

Becoming the first rural area in the country to be granted a devolution deal is a huge achievement for Cornwall and is an important first step in our journey to gaining greater control over our future.

The agreement with the Government gives us greater powers, leverage, freedoms and flexibilities which we will be using to reform public services in Cornwall. All parts of the public, private and voluntary and community sectors in Cornwall are working together to make better use of resources to improve the quality of life for local people.

Some of the themes will see partners developing ways of working together more efficiently and effectively, while other themes will have a more direct impact on the day to day lives of residents and businesses.

LEP CEO Sandra Rothwell discusses the Devolution Deal for Cornwall.
