The Enterprise Adviser project connects young people with world of work
The Enterprise Adviser Programme is a national scheme that links volunteers from the local business community with schools and colleges to help bridge the gap between education and employment.
The aim is to help young people make more informed choices about their future careers and ensure that employers are getting the skills they need from the workforce of tomorrow.
The LEP is co-funding the project in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with the national Careers & Enterprise Company, an employer-led organisation set up to inspire and prepare young people for the world of work.
If your business or school would like to find out more about working with the Enterprise Adviser Programme please contact Enterprise Co-ordinator Carrie Holmes.
WE ARE HIRING!
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Enterprise Adviser programme aims to increase employer engagement with secondary schools and is led by The Careers and Enterprise Company and Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP. The rationale behind the programme is a piece of research that suggests if young people in secondary schools have 5 significant contacts with employers then they are far less likely to become unemployed when they leave school. The model was championed by Lord Young in his Enterprise for All report (see pages 19 and 20).
We are looking to expand our current team so if you want an exciting and
dynamic role fostering links between education and businesses with the aim of
