The overall
Growth Deal allocation to CIoS LEP is £78m however there is currently £700,000 available
from uncommitted funds. Although the available funding is currently limited the
CIoS LEP would like to maintain a pipeline of projects in the event that
additional funding becomes available or to signpost to other funding
opportunities.
Projects
must support the objectives of the CIoS LEP and align with the Strategic Economic Plan and
the 10 Opportunities. In
particular, CIoS LEP are seeking proposals that are able to create employment
and skills. Guidance on measuring economic benefits is available here
Key points to bear in mind if considering submitting an Expression of Interest:
- The
minimum grant funding request is £250,000
- Funding
is for capital projects
- Funding
must be spent and claimed before 31 March 2021
- Applicants
should have a good track record of delivery
- Projects
must support the objectives of the CIoS LEP
- Projects
should make a good economic return with a strong rationale for public
investment
You will need to be in a position to submit a Full Application and develop a Business Case based on HM Treasury Five Case Model if invited to do so as part of the next stage. Further guidance available here.

Growth Deal

The following
projects give an example of the types of investment the CIoS LEP are looking to
make;
The scheme will deliver a Creative Tech Hub, co-located within the newly refurbished Hall for Cornwall within the Back Quay area of the building, featuring offices, meeting space and circulation space. The new workspace will be used to support post graduates, new talent and start-up businesses to create a new cluster within the digital and creative economy.
Smart Islands Electric Vehicles:
The Project will consist of the installation of 25 electric vehicle (EV) chargers, 10 solar canopies across the Isles of Scilly and the initial deployment of 10 electric vehicles. The 10 electric vehicles will be available to local residents on a pooled basis and will include a number of different vehicles types.
