Event to focus on progressing sustainable construction in Cornwall

Construction industry professionals and those interested in sustainable development are being invited to an ‘Achieving Innovation’ event hosted by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and in association with the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Cornwall New Energy.

The breakfast meeting takes place on Friday 15th September at the Tremough Innovation Centre, at Falmouth University’s, Penryn Campus.

Sustainable growth is a core LEP principle and the LEP Construction Strategy 2014-2020 highlighted the requirement to build a specialism for sustainable construction in Cornwall.

This series of events focuses on supporting Cornwall’s Construction Industry from the Client all the way through the supply chain, to promote sustainable construction and raise the bar on the delivery of energy efficient buildings through innovation.

Scott James, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Construction Strategy Partnership Manager, for the LEP said: “Professional services are key to the delivery of low carbon and energy efficient building projects.  This breakfast meeting will bring together experts in the field of sustainable construction to showcase case studies of innovation in practice that offer measurable value to clients, looking at how project teams can overcome challenges and demonstrate the opportunities that innovation can bring the industry and its customers. Included will be an opportunity to meet innovative product suppliers and service providers from Cornwall.”
